The People's Coalition on Food Sovereignty (PCFS)
together with BetterAid and Open Forum will conduct a CSO Global Consultation
on Rural Aid and Development Effectiveness in Latin America and the Caribbean
from the 31st October until the 1st November 2012 in Hotel El Dorado, La Paz, Bolivia.
Rural communities are
marginalized in the development aid agenda. There is a need for their
grassroots groups to organize and consolidate their presence in government
structures. This CSO consultation will build the capacity of grassroots
groups and CSOs to participate with decision makers on aid effectiveness in
agriculture and food security.
To develop a country-level agenda based on their experiences and to
also strengthen commitments in a post-Busan framework.
This will be achieved through identifying and promoting key issues
and action points on the Agriculture and Rural Development Aid and
Development Effectiveness Agenda.
I trust that you find this of
interest and contact me if you have any questions.

Development assistance produces results but too little information about development assistance is available and there is a lack of transparency. Developing countries do not always know how much aid is invested in their country, how that money is spent or what results it achieves.
